Antiq – how to combine aesthetics with functionality?

Restoration and reconstruction of historic buildings should include all architectural details used in the building. This is especially true for structural elements, decorative elements and installations routed along the surface of exterior walls. Each installation must be properly and securely fastened with brackets. Their color should coordinate with the entire installation. That is why THALE — the owner of the Niczuk brand — has introduced a new type of clamps called ANTIQ. Specialized clamps are dedicated to cast iron and plastic pipes.

Thanks to THALE clamps it is much easier to select all the structural elements for mounting of the rainwater system so that they form a single coherent aesthetic entity. ANTIQ clamps are dedicated for installation in historical buildings and rooms where pipes run along the wall surface (lofts in historical factories). The surface of the clamp is coated with a layer of black zinc lamellar coating, which is finished with a matte powder coating. This method of corrosion protection gives a salt spray resistance of more than 1500 hours when tested according to ISO 10289.

Two types of anti-corrosion coatings are used in the production of ANTIQ coated components. The first, which is applied directly to the clamp, is a black zinc flake coating, then the clamps are covered with a highly weather-resistant powder paint coating. The resulting coating is resistant to corrosion, chemicals, high temperature and mechanical damage. This provides long-term protection of steel surfaces in direct exposure to harsh weather conditions. To ensure visual consistency — in addition to the lamellar coating — bolts also have a special varnish coating.

On the inside, the clamp is covered with a soft lining resistant to weather and aging processes. The lining is made of HH/EPDM cellular rubber. Thermal resistance of cellular rubber ranges from -40°C to +100°C. Each clamp size is matched to the length of the inner cover, which protects the tubular component working with the clamp against abrasion and damage. Antiq clamps are manufactured in sizes up to 216 mm, so each designer and contractor will surely find the right size for the pipes used. The handles use connections sized up to M12.
